ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES FOR FALL
Book Discussion Group - Sundays This group will be reading The Battle for God by Karen Armstrong. We have the books ($3) so come by and join us on September 7th in the Community Room. Coffee and Conversation- Sundays This year Pastor Thom will be leading this a bit differently than last year with topics that are sure to get you thinking. On the Second Sunday of the month there will be a food featured as part of "Healthy Foods/Healthy Spirituality with Jean Clinton. No need to sign up, just drop in. Disciple I - weekday Ellen Glenn will be leading this class on Tuesday evenings in her home beginning in her home. This first step in the Disciple series is an enlightening experience that leads you to a greater understanding of the word of God. Contact Ellen at 388-2628. Disciple II - weekday Lisa Radford will lead it. They haven't decided on whether to meet on Sundays after the first service until noon or pick a day mid-week. Need to have taken Disciple I Eclipsing Empire - weekday Join preeminent New Testament scholars Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan on location in Turkey as they trace the Apostle Paul's footsteps throughout the Roman Empire. This 12-session DVD and web-based study explores fresh insights into Paul's message of the Kingdom of God, its challenge to Roman imperial theology, and the apostle's radical relevance for today. Pastor Thom will be leading this class Tuesday evenings at 6:30 beginning September 9th in the Wesley Room. Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace - weekday Jill Armstrong will be leading this wildly popular class again beginning September 8th at 6pm in the Wesley and wrapping up before Christmas. What a great way to start off 2009.
