Hello! My name is Glenda Downs and I am the Chancel Choir Director. What I really feel like saying is, "Hey you guys, I'm HOME." This is truly a homecoming for me; for those of you who don't know, I was a staff member of this church from November, 1965 through March of 1989.
After growing up in Bend and graduating from Bend High I majored in Music at OSU, then taught piano and organ lessons while my 3 children were young. Also, for many years, I was the staff organist for Niswonger & Reynolds Funeral Home.
After serving this church as organist I moved to Southern California where I was the payroll specialist with a Law Firm and Director of Music/Organist at Woodland Hills UMC. Tom and I were married at the Woodland Hills church in 1997 and decided to come back 'home' in 2001. I directed the choir at Nativity Lutheran Church until January of 2006.
Our blended family consists of 3 sons, 2 daughters, 2 grandsons, and 5 grand-daughters. Life is good; Tom and I are blessed with good health, good friends and a happy family.
And….we are home!
