Service Groups

Wednesday Workers

This service group takes on the responsibility of the church grounds and maintenance. Their mission is to take pride in the church building, and make sure everyone who looks at in knows it is take care of.

More important than the building itself, is the people inside it. These folks also help out those in the church who need their odd job expertise.

When: every Wednesday morning following the Men's Breakfast. Work begins around 9:00am.
Where: At the church.
Who: While mostly made up of men, this group is open to all who wish to make the church a nicer place to be.

Prayers and Squares

Our purpose is to provide a prayer quilt (lap size) to those church friends undergoing surgery, health issues, a spouses death, etc. to let them know their church family is thinking about them and praying for them. Each quilt is put together with yarn ties and placed in the narthex. Folks may stop, say a prayer and tie a yarn knot for the recipient. Many, many quilts have been fashioned and given away each Sunday as the need arises, even some for ill children.

When: Second and Fourth Thursdays of the month from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
Where: Church Fellowship Hall (in the basement).
Who:Anyone interested in sewing with a friendly group of ladies
What to Bring: A sack lunch for yourself
Skill Level Required: You don't have to know how to quilt! We do not quilt these quilts. You only need the ability to sew squares into lovely lap quilts by layering the back, front and batting and "stitching in the ditch" or adding the yarn ties. We even teach!
What You can Donate: Gifts of all cotton fabric, thread, ideas and money are greatfully accepted.
